Ben Saunders inches closer to departing on his solo and unsupported attempt to the reach the geographical north pole. Anticipation builds as he flys from Ottawa to Resolute.

In March 2011, british polar explorer Ben Saunders set out on a solo and unsupported attempt to reach the geographical north pole in a record breaking time.

This is the third instalment in a series of films documenting the expedition.

Ben is currently planning his next expedition - The Scott Expedition. An 1800 mile, unsupported return journey from the coast of Antarctica to the South Pole on foot retracing Captain Scott's footsteps.
