Television was born in New York and it was a huge success from the beginning. Among the first public emissions, I have to mention the BBC channel. The cathode ray tubes were invented, and later, digital television.

Among the many channels and things that appear in television, I’ve divided them in some categories.
Programs: a group of periodic emissions. Many genres, as informative, educative, for kids, competitions, sports, musical...
Series: it is like a very long movie divided in chapters, included in seasons. Also documentaries can be included here. As example I put Friends.
Cartoons: same as series but animated cartoons. As example I put The Simpsons.
Anime: same as cartoons but japanese. As example I put Dragon Ball.
Videoart: it is a movement that happened in USA and Europe from the 60s. Conceptual art, performances and minimalism.
Videoclips: videos representing a song. Jailhouse Rock by Elvis Presley is considered the first videoclip.
Publicity: with the coming of television, publicity announcements happened too. I should mention here to the movie trailers too. As example I put Coca-cola.
Internet: millions of people upload videos to Internet, mainly to YouTube.
