Queensland facing $188 billion in debt by 2028

Queensland's debt will increase to more than $180 billion in four years - according to Treasurer Cameron Dick.

Treasury forecasts show government borrowings are set to double to $128 billion between now and 2027-28.

Net debt will increase to $73 billion.

That is five times more than the $14 million it's expected to be.

Mr Dick has blamed a decrease in Queensland's share of GST and a drop in coal royalties.
