A new poll reveals that the Coalition is gaining support due to Labor’s handling of immigration and the cost-of-living crisis.
Australians have had a surge of frustration surrounding immigration, with 50 per cent agreeing that immigrants are a burden on the social welfare system.
“The immigration issue has become a symbol of the cost-of-living pressure,” Mr Shanahan told Sky host Peta Credlin.
“People feel like they are bring squeezed economically.
“The feeling is that the housing crisis which translates into high rent, high mortgage rates and now people all talking about not mortgage cuts before the end of the year.”
