'Prime ministers can't win on this': Albanese defended after evicting tenant
The Australian’s National Editor Dennis Shanahan has defended Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s decision to evict a long-term tenant from one of his investment properties.
"Prime ministers can't win on this," Mr Shanahan told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“If they are elected and they keep the investments they have, they keep shares they have … there’s always a problem with what they’ve got.
“John Howard decided to get rid of all his shares when he became prime minister, and it was the only way to do it. Anthony Albanese hasn’t evicted his tenant – he’s selling his house.”
