Inflation ‘has to remain’ number one priority of government's budget
EQ Economics Managing Director Warren Hogan says inflation “has to remain” the “number one” priority of the Albanese government's budget.
Treasurer Jim Chalmers will be releasing the government's budget in two weeks.
“Inflation has to remain the number one priority,” Mr Hogan said.
“I think that does put some constraints on them.
“The government’s been disciplined I think so far in the last couple of years, and they need to keep that discipline up in this budget.
“Despite the fact it’s a pre-election budget and they probably feel like they want to spend some money.”
