Federal budget puts ‘upward pressure’ on interest rates

Opposition leader Peter Dutton says the federal budget has put “upward pressure” on interest rates.

“The budget, according to every credible economic commentator, has put upward pressure on interest rates,” Mr Dutton said during a media conference on Tuesday.

“Or at least is going to keep interest rates higher for longer.”
