Baby Seals Rescued at Cape Cross

Early in the morning, the Ocean Conservation Namibia team arrive at at Cape Cross, and are almost immediately greeted by numerous seals in from the end of the walkway, they identify 2 entangled animals and get ready to help.
The first seal is a small pup with some white string around his chest. He is close to the walkway, but they see a second one about 100 meters away, and hope that this one stays in place while they finish up the first one.
Denzil successfully catches the first pup in the net, and he is small enough to be taken out and freed by hand. The thin string has caused a deep quite which has mostly grown over with new skin.
Once done, the second pup was luckily still in place, and they ran down, managing to secure her in the net. She was caught in a white plastic packaging strap, and very badly cut by it. Naude managed to get the plastic out of the wound and she could join the other seals in the ocean, without pain for a change.
