Seal Choked by Plastic Strap

While at Pelican Point, the OCN team could clearly see this bright white loop of plastic sticking out above a group of seals sleeping near the beach.
Naude ran in behind, caught the big pup by hand and called in Denzil for backup with the net, as the seal was a bit bigger and much stronger than he anticipated.
Once the Cape Fur Seal was restrained in the new net, they could easily open up the zipper and cut the plastic without any risk. The seal still had a lot of fight in him, which is a good indicator that this was a fairly recent entanglement, and no damage was sustained yet. 🦭
