Seal Bull "Wrestles" with his Rescuers!!

Wally and Naude from Ocean Conservation Namibia (OCN) spotted a massive seal with a plastic packaging strap around it's neck. Once they catch it with the rescue net, they quickly realise that the seal is very big for only two rescuers, but it was too late to back out. They manage to cut the entanglement loose with their Leatherman Raptors, and the seal tries hard to get out of the net and to shake off the rescuers. Luckily the net did not break, the zippers could withhold the pressure from the inside, and the seal reverses out of the net, back into the ocean.

Plastic packaging strap would have eventually killed this animal. As the seal grows, the entanglement tightens around the neck, until the seal is no longer able to move, hunt, eat or breathe. If this loop had been cut, this seal would have been spared from senseless suffering. 🦭
