John Swinney contradiction complaining about 'polarisation of politics' despite contributing to it
JOHN Swinney was mocked by rivals for complaining about the polarisation of Scottish politics - despite admitting he’s contributed to it.
The newly-appointed SNP leader has been on the frontbenches at Holyrood for the majority of the time his party has been in power since 2007.
And he has been involved in several angry exchanges with opposition MSPs, including last week when he lost his cool with Scottish Tory leader Douglas Ross for making a jibe about his “honest John” nickname.
However, in a speech accepting the leadership of the SNP in Glasgow - having stood unopposed for the job - he vowed to adopt a different approach, as he suggested nothing can be achieved by “shouting at people”.
