BUDGET DEBATE: Finance Committee convener accused of SNP bias in his budget speech

Finance and Public Administration Committee convener, Kenneth Gibson, was accused of bias towards his SNP party at the budget debate yesterday.

Mr Gibson was delivering the committee's summary of the proposed budget when he was challenged by Stephen Kerr, who believed he was speaking on behalf of himself rather than the committee.

Yesterday Scotland’s Deputy First Minister has said his tax and spending plans for the next year deliver on the “priorities of a progressive government”.

Speaking in the stage one debate on the budget, John Swinney urged MSPs to back the Bill.
