Jeevan ke din chote sahi is the song sung by Kishore Kumar but here the students in chorus have done justice with the music of yesteryear by a proper rendition.
A rainbow of colors unfurled on the stage as Surendranath Centenary School celebrated its Annual Function Cum Prize Distribution "Rendezvous" with enthusiasm, excitement and youthful exuberance on 22nd December 2018 wherein a plethora of cultural events were displayed.
Mr. Rana S. Chakravarty ,Director (Marketing) Heavy Engineering Corporation, Ranchi graced the occasion with his presence as the Chief Guest and Ms. Sujata Kumari Veenapani, IPS City S.P Ranchi was esteemed Guest of Honor.All hands joined together as they inaugurated the function by lighting the ceremonial lamp. The programme commenced with the melodious welcome song presented by the students of class IX to XII followed by the welcome dance on Saraswati Vandana by the students of class VI to VIII.Mayank R.V Vishal, the head boy of the school delivered the welcome address. The principal Mrs. Samita Sinha rose to the audience to present a glimpse of the school's progress and achievements in both academic and co curricular activities through her annual report. She shared her vision for the growth of the school. This was followed by a series of performances which brought forth the talent of the students and enthralled the audience.
The tiny tots of UKG to II with their play "Nature's Dogma" aroused awareness among all those who take environment for granted.It reminded everyone of their duties and responsibilities towards mother earth. Shradhanjali, a tribute to the former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee paid by the students of class IV to IX cast a magic on the stage and left the audience spell bound. The students of Class III to XII showcased their talent in the dance drama "Divya Leela" which was an adapted version of Rabindranath Tagore's "Bhanu Singher Padawali" through a blend of Rabindrik dance style and kathak. It was a breathtaking performance which mesmerized each one. The scintillating farewell dance by the students of VIII to XII added to vibrance & color of the annual function.
The school magazine "Expressions" was released by the guest followed by the prize distribution.
The guests bestowed the honors and awards on 181 school achievers for academic excellence and curricular activities for the session 2017-18. Aditya Anshul the most outstanding student of the outgoing batch of class X received the prestigious Amala Goswami Award. Laxmikant Mahto and Vaishnavi, class XII school toppers of science stream were honoured with Ranadev Choudhari Endowment. Ritwika Soumya, class XII commerce topper recived the Mira Choudhary Award. Champions trophy was bagged by Panther house.
