Face off Bhargava Vs Dibya Jyothi at Footloose (GYV)

Footloose was a formal event which was held at the CAT Hall from 10:00 A.M.on February 16, 2018
After Individual performance judges decided for having a face off between the two best performers to reach to a conclusion. Here Bhargava fights against Dibya Jyothi.
The participants had to present an individual dance performance.
There was complete freedom to choose their dance style and songs.
The participants were judged on the basis of their energy, presentation, choreography etc.

BITOTSAV is the annual cultural festival of BIT, Mesra BITOTSAV 2018, is an affair to be remembered by the participants and orgnisers alike . Comprising around 40 day-events, including 9 flagships that took place over a span of 3 days from the 15th to the 18th of February'18, the competitions were exhilarating albeit a bit exhausting. With exciting cash prizes and goodies up for grabs, BITOTSAV 2018 witnessed the best talent across the country. Moreover, to help people unwind after a day of hard work, BITOTSAV had some resplendent nights in store. As a part of the Red Bull Bus Tour, which is going to come to Eastern India for the first time, Indian rock bands:- Anand Bhaskar Collective and Swarathma entertained the audience with some amazing music. Stellar DJs like Anish Sood, Teri Miko, Gaurav Mehta and Rave & Crave ere also part of the EDM Nite to make the attendees dance to their beats. The best has been saved for the last as none other than Amit Trivedi is coming to BIT, Mesra to astound the audience with his melodious tunes.
With the aim of portraying the auspicious amalgamation of culture and heritage, B.I.T. Mesra organized “Heritage Night” on the 15th of February, as a part of its annual cultural festival, BITOTSAV’18.

● The night marked the grand beginning of the three day long cultural fest and was conducted in the G.P. Birla Auditorium.

● The chief guest of the evening was Arun Kumar, Director, Technical Education, Directorate of Higher Technical Education and skill developement.

● Dr. S. Konar, the Acting Vice Chancellor and the Dean Students’ Welfare, Dr. Mahesh Chandra were also present.

● The event began with the lamp lighting ceremony by the distinguished guests.

● The lamp lighting was followed by the B.I.T. prayer.

● The Dean of Students’ Welfare, Dr. Mahesh Chandra and the Acting Vice Chancellor, Dr. S. Konar addressed the auditorium.

● The BITOTSAV coordinator, Dr Keerti Avishek, then enlightened the crowd with a speech which covered the various social causes and the themes of the fest.

● Next, Mr. Vishwas Deep, Vice President and Global Head- Talent Acquisition of Wipro, delivered an enkindling speech.

● Mrs. Mina Mishra, wife of the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Dr. M.K Mishra then declared the fest open.

● This was followed by a series of performances by the students of the college.

● The first performance of the evening was “Sound of the Nation” by Dhwani, the Music club of BIT Mesra. The performance was a beautiful conflux of folk and pop music around the country.

● Next up, was a performance by the Dance Club wherein the students displayed Tribal and Classical dance forms.

● Next up was a Mime Act by Ehsaas, the Dramatics Society of BIT Mesra.

● This was followed by a musical skit based on Body-Shaming, one of the social causes which BITOTSAV stands for.

● Following this, the crowd was left mesmerized by the soul stirring beat poetry by Sarthak Ladhani, Syed Shabbir Ahmed and Subhendu Karmakar.

● A dance performance by Priyadarshini Nath followed next.

● Up next, was a beautiful presentation by the renowned ghazal and sufi artist, Mr. Abhishek Pathak. With Nandan Kumar Thakur on Tabla and Pritam Mishra accompanying him on guitar, BIT witnessed a stupefying musical union of the soul and the mind.
