The 90-Minute Pregame Snack Most Soccer Players Skip

What should I eat right before a soccer game? The pregame meal three to four hours out is part of the answer but the snack 60 to 90 minutes before kickoff is the part most athletes miss entirely. By the time warm-up hits, your body has already metabolized most of the meal, and your immediate fuel supply is dipping. The pregame snack closes that gap with a small, familiar, mostly-carb food that's low in fat and fiber. Bananas, pretzels, toast with jelly, granola bar with juice. One small addition that meaningfully changes how the legs feel at the first whistle.
