My Anxiety Recovery Mindset and How it Has Enabled me to Fully Recover
Anxiety and Panic disorders are difficult to recover from but it is 100% achievable. A lot of the success depends on the mindset you adapt and make use of.
A lot of us are so focused on the mental and physical symptoms that it consumes our day to day lives.
We are constantly worried about our heart health, strokes, cancers, neurological diseases and the list goes on and on. We start looking up the sensations we experience and dig ourselves deeper into the worry pit and eventually end up in the ER or at the doctors office to get ourselves checked up. After getting the “ all clear “ we might feel some sort of relief but it doesn’t last long. This is simply because we are still under tremendous amounts of stress. There isn’t any external factor that can bring us out of this hyperalterted and sensitized state. In a state like this the tiniest symptoms will trigger further panic and fuel our stress levels to an overwhelmed state and that triggers panic attacks.
With that in mind it is important to understand that the main goal is to lower stress and the bodies sense of comfort. This isn’t something that can be achieved over night but is an continuous effort and will have to become a lifestyle. In order to find the motivation, dedication and drive to completely change my life around, I gave up the search for answers on why I was feeling the way I did. I realized that I have tried everything, did every test, visited dozens of doctors and nothing has worked. Instead of letting the hoplesness completely drown me mentally I saw it as a second chance. A chance to form a life I was proud of and enjoyed to the fullest. I made an aggressive cut and implemented plenty of positive habits that I knew will be needed to bring me further to my overarching goal of happiness.
I worked out basically every single day, woke up earlier, started meditating, made use of certain breathing exercises, ate healthy not because I wanted to treat my anxiety but because it was something that brought me further in life.
Over time ive noticed that the negative thoughts slowly diminished, I could finally start accepting anxiety and everything that is happening to me. No more panic attacks. I had full control over my thoughts again. I have recovered from my anxiety disorders.
