Handstand Journey in 2 months at 56 Years Old
Follow my freestanding handstand journey from 0 to over 20 seconds in 8 weeks.
When I started I could hold a handstand against a wall, but not freestanding.
In retrospect I should have undertaken this at the beginning of my 3 year Calisthenics journey so far. But I think it's proof that it's Never too late to teach an old dog new tricks.
The end result is far from perfect. I need to work on shoulder and thoracic flexibility so that I can straighten the handstand which will make it much easier to hold for time.
This move is easier to attain than others like the straddle planche, muscle up or levers as it relies less on building strength and more on balance and feel.
I believe anyone with a reasonable physicality can get it if they just practise, practise, practise. Consistency in your training and repetition will bring you success.
So why not get out there and challenge yourself to get it too.
