032923 MONTGOMERY COUNTY PRECINCT 4 TASK FORCE ARRESTS 13

Last Wednesday Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable Rowdy Hayden put all his deputies out on I-69 for the sole purpose to stop the illegal flow of drugs, illegal plates, unsafe driving and drivers not having insurance or driver's licenses. In addition, looking for persons with open warrants. Between 2 pm and midnight, deputies stopped 67 vehicles. In those 56 warnings were issued, 3 citations were issued and 13 arrests were made. They were also involved in two-foot pursuits. one along I-69 in Splendora. The second took place as deputies were looking for the first a male saw them and fled. He was last seen after he crossed Peach Creek onto Ferguson. He then vanished into the woods. With the dogs out and a drone in the air, he was not located. However, Thursday morning a concerned citizen called to report a male hiding in the woods. It was the second male that had fled and was in the woods all night. He had several open warrants out of Harris County.

Another vehicle was stopped after the deputy observed the left rear tire dangerously wobbling. As he was stopping the vehicle he observed something which looked like it came out of the vehicle onto the roadway. While checking the vehicle the K-9 was deployed and alerted. What they found was a hole in the floorboard under the carpet. Apparently, they tried to dispose of drugs through the hole. The only problem was one of the small baggies hung on the hole and didn't go out. The females were arrested for possession. A stop later the deputy observed the male bending over in the driver's seat during the stop. As a deputy safety measure, the deputy made the driver exit the vehicle. The driver said he left his id at home and identified himself as Marcus Brown. When he was run no driver's license was found in the DPS database. An AFIS device was used which electronically sends a fingerprint for identification. The prints returned with his real name as Demarkus Brown, a wanted male from Fort Bend County. As the deputy took him into custody he realized the reason the driver was bending over was that he had put all his identification in his sock. Another traffic stop was due to a trailer with no license plate or tail lights.  The deputy learned that the driver had just picked the trailer up at the Pasadena Police Department. It was his trailer that had been stolen 5 years ago and was recovered.  Several stops were also made for fictitious paper plates and reckless driving.  Constable Hayden said he was pleased with the operation and plans to do several more. He said his goal is to rid East Montgomery County of drugs and illegal activity and put the criminals where they belong.
