081220 I-69 STEEL GOES THROUGH TRUCK WINDSHIELD

Male driving north on I-69 just north of Roman Forest just after 9 am Wednesday in a new Ford F-450 King Ranch pickup suffered a shoulder injury after a metal object on the freeway came through his windshield. The male was transported in stable condition to Kingwood Hospital. The object, identified by DPS as a secondary leaf spring from an 18-wheeler was evidently kicked up by another vehicle and slung through the windshield just missing his head. As this incident was working a secondary crash occurred about 100 yards north of it. One elderly female was transported in stable condition on that scene.
