In this video I show some beginner stretches for flexibility improvements. If you're starting from scratch and aren't sure how to get started, this straight-forward flexibility routine is the way to go.

It involves running through a list of stretches - 1 for each major muscle group - and noting down which stretches felt "tight," meaning you were not able to .relax and feel comfortable in the stretch. After you have that list, that's essentially your routine.

Each day (I recommend at night before going to sleep) just do each stretch for at least 2 sets of 30-60 seconds. Every time you stretch, concentrate on relaxing into it and trying to sink just a tiny bit deeper than before.

I've tried PNF and other stretching methods, and they can work too, but this straight-forward approach to daily stretching for flexibility honestly gave me the most benefit. I recommend giving it a shoty and seeing how your flexibility improves across 2 or 3 months.
