2021-01-28 Xiao Qi Ji ~ Our Dauntless, Daring Darling!

Day 160 #PandaStory: Whether Xiao Qi Ji is playing with his fun-lovin' mother Mei Xiang, or tackling the rockwork, he is relentless and resolute!

Scene 1: Around 5pm Wednesday Xiao Qi Ji was in room 3 by himself and started playing with long stalks of mommie's bamboo ... next you hear Mei Xiang bleat and come to him, as if to ask what did he think he was doing? Play ensues in the playpen, as does a nursing bout, including showing Mei Xiang eating while Qi Ji was still nursing!

Scene 2: Around midnight Qi Ji hops off the ledge, pesters Mei Xiang a bit while she's eating, then he puts himself to bed in the den. (He's the only one sleeping in the den these days).

Scene 3: 6 minutes into the video: While awaiting the arrival of the keepers, Mei Xiang and Xiao Qi Ji were engaged in lots of playing as well as follow-the-leader! Qi Ji has a habit of running to room 2 when he's had enough of playing with Mei, but she always follows!

Qi Ji is still trying to figure out how to get down from room 3's rockwork, but Mei Xiang is ever watchful, and bleats her support when he takes his tumbles! The next clip gives new meaning to "bear hug", as Mei Xiang did something I hadn't seen before ... she lovingly trapped him!

Scene 4: Around 11:20am Mei Xiang bleated to Qi Ji while he was in the den, but by the time he stretched and yawned, and got his fluffy rump out of the den. Mei was already outside. So he ventured to room 2 by himself and played with momma's boo stalks, and the blue ball ... before wandering back to the den.
