津波の被害を受けた宮古市（震災翌日 : 朝6時ごろ）
避難所となった愛宕小学校からのレポート。
小学校前の道路は、壊れた車や家屋の残骸などでふさがれている。
子供からお年寄りまで、約300人が避難しているという、この小学校。
電気もなく、暖もとれない中で、不安な一夜を過ごしたことをレポーターは伝える。
高台から眺めると、被害を受けた市街地の様子が...。破壊された家々のど真ん中に打ち上げられた大きな観光船。高台に向かう道も、がれきが点々と散らかり、道の登り口付近まで、がれきが押し寄せている。
市内のあちこちの道路が、汚泥や車や家財の残骸で埋め尽くされている。

Miyako city has suffered the damages of the tsunami (Day after earthquake, around 6 a.m.) A report from the evacuation shelter at Atago elementary school. The road in front of the school is blocked by broken cars and remains of houses torn down. From young to old, about 300 people have evacuated to this school. The reporter tells about how he spent a restless night without electricity or heat. Looking down from high ground, one can see the state of the city after suffering damages. A large sightseeing ship has been shot up ashore in the middle of destroyed houses. Debris scatters around the road to high ground and reach up to its entrance. Roads all over the city are filled with dirt, cars and household goods.
