'There's smoke here': Lack of evidence in Biden impeachment inquiry divides Republicans
There is “no way in the world” Republicans have enough numbers for the impeachment of US President Joe Biden, according to Sky News US contributor Michael Ware.
The United States House of Representatives has launched an impeachment inquiry after Speaker Kevin McCarthy maintained the Biden family “lied” to Americans about profitable business dealings.
“One of the problems here are the political optics – even within the Republican caucus there is division about whether this should even be happening at all because many of them feel there is absolutely no evidence yet,” Mr Ware told Sky News Australia.
“One of the Republican Party expert witnesses who said there may be grounds for us to further inquire but absolutely no grounds for evidence right now for articles of impeachment.
“But let's not forget, there is smoke here – there could be a bit of fire, you can’t deny that.”
