'Stamp out racism': Lidia Thorpe casts Voice vote

Independent Senator Lidia Thorpe cast her Voice vote today – declaring, "voting No is an opportunity for this country to heal".

Ms Thorpe cast her vote in Melbourne on Saturday morning, during which she wore a 'Vote NO' t-shirt.

"We've seen where the cancer is in this country, right? Racism is cancer, racism is an illness, it makes people sick," Ms Thorpe said.

"So, this referendum has shown where the cancer is in this country and where we need to heal. Where we need to put our efforts as a nation is in stamping out this ugly thing called racism."

Millions of Australians are heading to the polls today to cast their vote in the Voice referendum.
