Yes Voice vote 'can bring the country together': Jim Chalmers

Treasurer Jim Chalmers says voting Yes in the Voice referendum "can bring the country together" and can be a "unifying moment".

Mr Chalmers spoke to Sky News as Australians headed to the polls to cast their Voice vote today.

"This can be an act of patriotism to say to each other we will listen to you better, we will get better outcomes and we will move forward together," Mr Chalmers said.

Mr Chalmers also spoke about creating a "better future" via a Yes vote.

"And so we have done our best to be as positive as we can; the No campaign has taken a completely different approach."
