New 2024 Nissan Sentra Refreshing Midsize Sedan

Nissan is refreshing the eighth-generation Sentra for the 2024 model year. The automaker updates the styling across the range and makes the powertrain more efficient.

Nissan will offer the 2024 Sentra in three grades when it goes on sale in late summer: S, SV, and SR.

The most striking design transformation can be observed at the front of the vehicle. Every trim level of the 2024 Sentra showcases a reimagined front fascia, complete with refreshed headlights. Additionally, the SV grade receives a set of new 16-inch wheels, adding a touch of sophistication. As for the SR trim, it stands out with a more extensive refresh that aligns its appearance with the popular Altima SR. Noteworthy enhancements include a dark-finish V-Motion grille, dark chrome lower bumper features, body-color trim strip below the grille, red SR badges on the front and rear, and an eye-catching rear lower fascia graphic that visually widens the rear end.

Sentra SR stands out from the competition with striking two-tone paint options, with the option to pair a black roof with Aspen White Tricoat, Monarch Orange Metallic, Electric Blue Metallic and the new Atlantic Gray body colors.

Inside there’s a D-shaped steering wheel and round air vents that Nissan says are inspired by the Nissan Z sports car. The Sentra also gets Nissan’s Zero Gravity seats and there’s 14.3 cubic feet of cargo space. A 7-inch touchscreen is standard, while the Sentra SV and SR models get an 8-inch screen with 6 speakers. In front of the driver the Sentra comes standard with a 4.2-inch display, but that is upgraded to a 7-inch display on SV and SR trim versions.

Under the hood, the Sentra keeps its 2.0-liter inline-four. It continues to make 149 hp and 146 lb-ft of torque for the 2024 model year, but a new Xtronic CVT transmission has been added to the car. The transmission is claimed to have a smoother shift pattern and has been designed to be as fuel efficient as possible. In addition to a new standard stop/start, which shuts the engine off when it’s idling, the 2024 Sentra should be more fuel efficient than ever.

When it comes to safety, all Sentras are equipped with a suite of six advanced driver-assist systems including Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist and Rear Automatic Braking.

The 2024 Nissan Sentra goes on sale in late summer. Pricing will be announced closer to launch
