New 2024 Lexus GX - Redesigned Offroader SUV

Lexus has revealed the third-generation GX, which will go on sale in North America in early 2024. This is the first all-new GX model since the previous generation was launched in 2009. Lexus hopes to build on the GX’s legendary off-road ability, which has been quite popular with the overlanding crowd, while also adding sophistication and luxury to take on the Land Rover Defender.

The new GX is based on the new GA-F platform, which is shared with the Lexus LX.the car is designed with a length of 4,950 mm, width of 1,980 mm, height of 1,865 mm and a long wheelbase of 2,850 mm. The car will be available in seven and six seater options. Also, it will be available for sale in a total of six different variants.

The front of the GX has a bold look with a wide grille and LED headlights. The body is more compact and wider, giving it a stable appearance. The side of the GX has a robust design with a longer wheelbase and bigger tyres for off-road performance. The rear end boasts of a distinctive light bar and a power liftgate.

The new GX combines a tough exterior with a luxurious interior, providing the best of both worlds for customers. Whether it’s a short or long trip, drivers and passengers will enjoy the modern and sophisticated interior design. The driver-focused cockpit ensures a comfortable and confident driving experience, with improved visibility and seamless connectivity to the Head-Up Display and 14-inch Multimedia Touchscreen Display. The GX also includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, as well as a digital 12.3 Multi-Information Display. With seating for up to 7 people,

Mechanically, the new Lexus GX is powered by a 3.4-litre V6 twin-turbocharged engine paired with a 10-step DirectShift automatic transmission unit. This engine is capable of producing 345bhp and 650Nm of peak torque. Additionally, it comes equipped with a 4x4 system with a low-range gearbox. Moreover, the automaker has confirmed that the GX will also get a hybrid engine later.

Coming to its off-road capabilities, the Premium and Luxury trims offer 26 degrees of approach, 23 degrees of break-over, and 21 degrees of departure angles. On the other hand, the Overtrail variant gets an approach angle of 26 degrees, and both break-over and departure angles of 23 degrees.
