George McCrae ~ Honey I (I'll Live My Life For You) 1975 Disco Purrfection Version

George McCrae's 69th birthday is coming up on October 19th. Hard to imagine that he could ever age and recent pictures of him confirm it. After the stellar success of his first LP, "Rock Your Baby" and the platinum selling single that ushered in the disco era, he went back to Casey and Finch to follow up with 1975's self titled "George McCrae". The first single was the #65 pop hit, "Honey I" that charted in early 1976 for four weeks. While he is not generally remembered for this hit, it has the sound of sunshine all over it since it was recorded with the Sunshine Band. More disco oriented than his previous efforts, it was not until he hooked up with Gregg Diamond (More, More More by Andrea True Connection) that he was able to muster a charting disco hit in "Love In Motion" which went to #4 on that chart in 1976. Happy Birthday George!
