River House: Floods Close by, Bear Visit, Landscaping Work and More!

We bought the river house a year ago and it has been a great place to spend time with the family. It has also taken a lot of work! It was a mess when we bought it and after a complete remodel it is mostly done on the inside.

On the outside, I actually did some work on my own! I talk about how one of my biggest mistakes was fixing up a house on my own and tell people to be careful fixing up properties. However, one time when it can be worthwhile is when you are working on your own house with your family. That is what we have been doing with the river house and do not worry we have not been working too hard!

I discovered I rather like cutting down trees. I also like being able to have someone else haul off all the debris!

We also had a bear visit the property while we were gone and got that on camera.

There were some pretty serious floods yesterday in the Poudre canyon which is only 15 miles away from our river house! With crazy Colorado weather, there was no rain or even a rise in water levels at this river.
