Elvis Presley - I've Lost You - 24 July 1970 Studio Rehearsal

There were only nine weeks between the end of Elvis' Nashville marathon recording session in June 1970, and the commencement of his August 1970 Las Vegas engagement, and ten songs recorded during that session made it onto Elvis set list, with an additional six considered to the point that they made it as far as the rehearsal stage.

One of the songs which not only made it onto the set list but was retained fro the entire engagement was "I've Lost You" which Elvis had recorded the master on 4 June 1970, making it one of the very first songs recorded. Although there is just over a fortnight until opening night, it is interesting that Elvis is still using the original lyrics heard on the studio master and had not yet reverted to the verse and chorus format heard on the live master. This 24 July 1970 rehearsal version is taken form Follow That Dream's wonderful 2020 release "That's The Way It Is - 50th Anniversary Collector's Edition".
