Elvis Presley - Just Pretend - 20 February 1971 Midnight Show - Las Vegas

At present, Elvis is known to have performed Just Pretend, an undoubted fans favourite, just eighteen times in total. All but six of these took place during Elvis’ rearranged December 1975 Las Vegas engagement, where it was a surprise addition to the set list. These later versions are among the highlights of that season and are on a par with the 1970 renditions.
In between however, there are three version known to have been performed during February 1971 in Las Vegas and a further rendition in Honolulu, Hawaii during Elvis’ tour closing show on 18 November 1972. This rendition is the second of those 1971 renditions, from his midnight show on 19 February. The wonderful soprano is now performed by Kathy Westmoreland who took over from Millie Kirkham mid-August 1970.
