How To Get Lower Trap to "Pull its Weight": Stability WOD 50!

Your lower trapezius has two different jobs. The job most of us know is how it pulls the shoulder blades together and down. However it's lesser-known, and arguably more important job, is to rotate the shoulder blades up when we raise our arms overhead. Lower trapezius shares this job with the upper trapezius, which is commonly far more dominant and overloaded. If you don't understand what the heck I'm talking about please watch episode 48 & 49 first. Here my client and I discuss how to rebalance the work between these two muscles so lower trapezius comes back online and stabilizes the shoulder blade while the upper trapezius can soften, calm down, and not become a pain in the neck. This assures that we have healthy and strong shoulders when we're moving overhead
