I was at trial, cross examining a medical expert.
He was testifying for the hospital.
He was sharp.
He was savvy.
He had testified many times before.
Always for the defense.
Never for an injured patient.

I asked him a simple yes or no question.
He refused to answer my question yes or no.
Instead, he started to explain.
I stopped him.
I didn't want an explanation.
I only wanted a yes or no.
He didn't care.
He just kept explaining.

I again asked a yes or no question.
He wouldn't answer yes or no.
I started getting frustrated with him.
I started arguing with him.
It didn't go well for me.
I finally turned to the Judge and asked the Judge for help controlling this defense expert.
The Judge refused to limit the doctor's answers.
I couldn't find a way to control the doctor and his answers.
I didn't know what to do to get him to answer my questions yes or no.
This doctor literally destroyed me on cross examination and the jury knew it.
