Report finds 133 per cent spike in 18-24-year-olds abstaining from alcohol
Sky News host James Macpherson says according to a report from the Australian Institute of Health there has been a 133 per cent spike in 18-24 year olds abstaining from alcohol in the last 20 years.
“21 per cent of Australians in that age group now don’t drink,” Mr Macpherson said.
The Adelaide Advertiser interviewed one young person who said after giving up drinking he had saved $14,000 a year.
Others young people are concerned about being filmed or photographed in a drunken state and having it put on the internet.
They are also spending more time on social media over getting together and drinking like they used to.
