‘Empty promises’: Labor criticised for growing migration during cost-of-living crisis

Sky News host Caleb Bond has criticised the Labor government after recent numbers showed “some 500,000 people” poured into the country amid Australia’s cost-of-living crisis.

Mr Bond said Australia is in the grips of a “cost-of-living crisis” and “large inflation”.

“Against all predictions, the price of housing continues to gup,” Mr Bond said.

“It doesn’t take an economist to tell you that if you bring in 500,000 extra people when you already have a supply and demand problem – the supply and demand problem is only going to get worse.

“We’ve had all these empty promises … at what point do we say this just is not working.”
