Hey, guys! It looks like Season 4 of The Umbrella Academy will be its last. Technically, Netflix is yet to renew The Umbrella Academy for Season 4, as it has only been a few days after the release of the third season. According to the recent interview with Steve Blackman, the show’s creator, the original plan has always been a 4-season run. “I don’t know how many seasons Netflix wants to go. I pitched them four seasons, and I know the beginning, middle and end of it,” Blackman said to TVLine. That’s an interesting twist, considering that The Umbrella Academy has been one of the most successful Netflix original series. Moreover, fans of the show say that the recently released Season 3 has been the best season yet. The show has an outstanding IMDb viewer approval rating of 8 out of 10, and after just 2 seasons has garnered 10 award wins and 46 nominations, including SIX Primetime Emmys. With all that, would Netflix dare to follow the original plan and end The Umbrella Academy after four seasons? Also, keep in mind that the same-name comic book series by Gerard Way, on which the Netflix show is based on, is planned to go for years to come. Season 3 ended with a major development: as Reginald Hargreeves failed to reprogram the universe, the remaining Umbrella Academy and Sparrow Academy siblings found themselves in a new world where they no longer had their powers.
