2021-01-26 Xiao Qi Ji ~ Mei & Tian's Son, Having So Much Fun!

Day 158 #PandaStory, 2nd video as promised, including footage of Tian in the cubs' room! Xiao Qi Ji is at a great age, he's awake and engaged more often now. All scenes are from today, Tuesday.

Earlier this morning Mei Xiang and Xiao Qi Ji were racing around the rooms, and they'd stop to play a bit. His dismounts from the rockwork ledge are getting so much better, but there are still places that he's not quite tall enough to climb up to get to a next level on the rockwork. Then it was time to rest in the den (with his paws over his eyes at one point).

For those new to the National Zoo videos, we got to see a new room, room 4. It's the room that older siblings Bao Bao and Bei Bei used, and we saw Tian Tian in that room eating boo up on the elevated hammock!

Late in the morning, Mei bleated, and Xiao Qi Ji slowly made his way out of the den, stopping to play with the puzzle feeder ball in the den doorway. Finally Mei convincing him to follow her, and off to room 2 they go. A 20 minute play bout ensues, the highlights shown here. Then they move to the rockwork, and then back to room 3. We hear the door to the patio open as Qi Ji is occupied in room 3. He does a good job on his dismount as he heads to the den.
