GopherTortoises (Gopherus polyphemus) slowly doing their thing
Environmental engineers! Keystone species! And so apparently grumpy! I can never get enough of gopher tortoises especially because it's so rare to see them actively acting rather than peering out out their life sustaining burrows and then sliding back and scrambling for an escape. Once in awhile you get lucky.
