The Reverend Dr. Charles Stanley's son, an Atlanta pastor named Andy Stanley, has spoken up about his father's dying remarks to him.

On Tuesday, Charles Stanley passed away at age 90. For more than 50 years, the internationally renowned preacher of Atlanta's First Baptist Church was an inspiration to viewers of his evangelical TV show, "In Touch with Dr. Charles Stanley."
Andy Stanley, his son, now serves as the senior pastor of North Point Community Church.

Andy Stanley claimed in a social media post that his dad asked him to pray for him at the end of every visit in their final weeks together."Which of course I did," Andy Standley typed. I was, as the saying goes, "on my knees beside the big leather chair he was confined to for the past several months."

Andy Stanley claims that his father made a turn for the better during their last conversation on Saturday night, when he requested if he might pray for his son "as if he knew."
Andy Stanley said, "Then, as was his custom, he said, "I couldn't be prouder of you Andy." A word's significance is proportional to its context. What amazing, profound words. And those were his last words to me.

Andy Stanley has declared that he will grieve the loss of his dad every day until the day they are reunited in heaven.

Until we reunite, I will constantly miss him.
