Daylight robbery, female's licensed gun stolen — cops recover weapon, arrest two women

A 60-year-old woman was violently robbed in broad daylight outside a Westmoorings pharmacy, with bandits making off with cash, personal belongings, and a licensed firearm.

The incident occurred around 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, while the victim was seated in her parked white MG HS vehicle at the SuperPharm Pharmacy compound.

Two men approached and forcibly relieved her of her handbag.
During the robbery, one of the suspects pushed the woman to the ground, causing injuries, before escaping with her belongings. Stolen items included a licensed Smith and Wesson .38 revolver loaded with six rounds of ammunition, $5,000 in cash, personal documents, and a car key fob.

Following the report, officers assigned to the Four Roads Criminal Investigations Department launched an intelligence-led operation between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, under Operation Steady G.U.A.R.D.

Acting on information received, police conducted searches in multiple areas, including Simeon Road in Petit Valley, where the victim’s handbag and personal items were recovered.

Two female suspects—ages 33 and 23—of Cocorite Terrace, Cocorite, and Harpe Place, Port of Spain, respectively, were arrested in connection with the investigation.

Further operations took officers to Pitch Road, Laventille, where an abandoned house was searched. There, police recovered the stolen .38 revolver and matching ammunition. No arrests were made at that location.
