Idli Halwa || Left Over Idli Recipe || Don't Waste Food || Yummy Tummy
IDLI HALWA recipe
Ingredients for Idli Halwa:
• Leftover Idli 4-5
• Ghee 1/4 cup
• Jaggery 1 cup (or more if required)
• Cashews as required
• Raisins as required
• Cardamom 6-7
• Milk 1 and 1/2 cup
• Rawa (Semolina) 1/4 cup
• Saffron Food Color 1/4 tsp (if needed)
• Water 1/2 cup
Method for preparing Apple Halwa:
• First in a mixer grinder, put idli, milk, water, cardamom and grind it to a smooth paste.
• Transfer it into a bowl.
• In a pan, roast cashews and raisins. Transfer it to a plate and keep it aside.
• In the same pan, roast rawa and transfer it to a plate and keep it aside.
• Heat ghee in a pan and add the ground idli paste, roasted rawa, 1/4 cup water and mix well.
• Then add jaggery and mix well until it dissolves completely.
• Add saffron food colour and mix well.
• You can add more ghee if you prefer.
• Keep stirring until the halwa separates from the pan.
• Lastly add roasted cashews and raisins. Mix well.
• Close the lid and switch off the flame.
• Tasty Idli Halwa is ready to serve.
• Serve it hot or chilled.
