"Flying Scotsman" departing Peterborough on the William McAlpine memorial special, 11th January 2018. A brief interlude of so-called LNER electric, diesel, and then the genuine article.......a touch of nostalgia with an LNER Pacific and eleven maroon-liveried carriages heading north...it could almost have been 1962.....except for the electric catenary, the bland new signalling centre, the grey palisade fencing and the weeds!
