Jacobite steam in September (Black fives to Mallaig) - (DBLM Steam)

The twice daily steam strains from Fort William to Mallaig, filmed in September 2019, at locations at the western end of the line, between Beasdale and Mallaig - trains hauled by black fives 45212 and 45407.
This is about as near as you can get to recapture the 'real steam era' of the late fifties and early sixties - with a class of locomotive and Mk 1 carriages that would have been the order of the day almost sixty years ago. With a climate and landscape that is reassuringly predictable - and a distinct lack of photographers to be seen - this really feels like a bygone age!
