Feeding Time at the OK Corral
I just recently acquired a "herd" of dwarf seahorses (Hippocampus zosterae) and while I'm still not certain I'll be able to deliver properly on all of their substantial needs, I'm enjoying the honeymoon period before anything potentially goes wrong (actually a few of them seem to have vanished, so perhaps already things are going wrong). This is feeding time where I load the tank with newly hatched brine shrimp and let them go at it. Their eyes move independently, like chameleons and they are constantly on the lookout for their next swimming bite of food. Then they vacuum them up and move on to the next shrimp. Unfortunately, in being processed for delivery by YouTube, the video quality is a bit degraded, and I apologize for the fuzziness. The audio track is Gabriel Fauré's Berceuse for violin and piano in D major, Op. 16, as performed by Jean-Claude Féret and was obtained from musopen.org where it is described as free from copyright restrictions.
