The Mesabi Miner arrived Duluth, Minnesota at 4:25 Pm after anchoring of the Duluth piers to wait for the John G. Munson to finish loading Iron Ore and depart Duluth.
The Mesabi Miner was built in 1977 by the American Shipbuilding Company of Lorain, Ohio. The ship measures 1,004 Feet in Length, 105 Feet in Width, 50 Feet in Depth, and has a maximum carrying capacity of 63,300 Tons. The ship is powered by 2 Pielstick - 16PC2-2V-400 Diesel Engines that produce 16,000 bhp and a top speed of 15.5 mph. It also has 16 Cylinders.
