How You Know if You're REALLY Using Your Ride Cymbal...
→ Conquer one-handed hihat 16ths at 80bpm in 5 simple steps. Download my FREE “Secret to Hihat 16ths” guide! https://the-non-glamorous-drummer.mykajabi.com/the-secret-to-hihat-16ths
Are you using YOUR ride cymbal to its fullest potential? The thing is, most of us drummers are sloppy when it comes to playing a ride cymbal precisely. We have tons of different sound options available to us that are determined by striking zone of the cymbal AND the drum stick itself. But most of the time we’re just not paying attention to this. Today we’re cycling through 19 distinct sounds we can get from one ride (which is my 20” K Custom Dark). From various edge techniques to 9 bell sounds, I hope to offer some technique suggestions and sound inspirations for your playing. If anything, I hope this inspires you to be as precise and intricate as you can when playing the ride!
