There were plenty of ways to be killed or wounded in World War 2. One of the quickest ways to achieve this outcome was to be a bomber crew member over Germany.

To understand which crew members were at greatest risk of being killed or wounded the US 8th Air Force carried out a survey of more than 1,117 B-17 Flying Fortress crews.

The survey revealed which crew positions were at greatest risk. The ball turret was often regarded as the most dangerous position, but the results of the survey revealed some interesting results!
