A sporty steering-wheel goes according the line of a sports car. We have quite a few of designs found on premium sports cars. But in the aftermarket there are a good bunch of resemblances from different renowned designers...and from unknown ones also, such as the used one I bought in a junkyard.
As you can see in the video, it was originally covered with a thin vinyl, and hand sewn with a euro-stitch. I tried to respect the design, using the old pieces as molds to get new ones in leather...actually they are useful as a guide, but don't trust in them so much, leather is thicker and a piece of this material behaves in a different manner along its surface.
All of the pieces do not have 'sewn junctions'...the ends are just pushed through in the recesses and remain hidden. I really have enjoyed a lot doing the beautiful ' Euro-stitch' 'hexagonal shape'.
I'd advise my interested users to start practicing these 'stitching patterns' applied for steering-wheels. More related youtube videos with different patterns are in process!
I hope you find this video useful !
