I was very lucky to find this awesome Yellowstone Wolf Pack, the Junction Pack in photo / video range! We usually see them from a mile away or more, which is too far away for good pictures or video. But hey, if I can see them at all with my binoculars, then I will always try for video and stills. We have very seldom seen a pack as playful as these wolves are - although sometimes they are not so playful and get a bit rough with each other. Most of the time they are respectful of each other and use body language to communicate. They seldom injure. One of their favorite hunting techniques is to go charging through the park hoping to ambush some game out from hiding. And fortunately, when they go on an "ambush run," they can be quite visible from our cars. So we try and anticipate where they will be, then then go ahead of them, set up our cameras and tripods - and wait. Sometimes it works beautifully, but sometimes the wolves pull a fast one on us and completely disappear. Seeing a formidable pack like this is absolutely exhilarating! ~ Mike
