My best documentary ever of my personal wolf relationships. Many wolves - Lamars / Black Beauty

After following me for several days, in 2001 a wolf I named "Black Beauty" befriended me and was there in sight in the vast Lamar Valley every time I went there over about a 2-3 day period. On my last day there, he led be through the valley (I followed him in my car) and last I saw he was going uphill. A light bulb went off in my head and I climbed an adjacent hill through the snow with my camera and heavy tripod. There, before my disbelieving eyes, Black Beauty stood next to his sleeping pack - showing them off for me! Black Beauty knew where I was - he constantly looked at me. The sleeping wolves all started waking up and howling, but they never looked at me - several hundred yards away. But Black Beauty certainly stared at me - over and over. He was proud of his pack and wanted me to see them. Unfortunately, it became dark and that ended one of my most extraordinary encounters ever. Next in my video I show you the Lamar wolf pack in 2014, with video this time - it shows their 6 pups playing. Then, the alpas (926 and 925) started assembling and herding the pups up to a ridge; anxious to get out of there as I sensed they were aware of an approaching rival wolf pack. After a lot of herding and pushing, the adults got the pups running like the wind; full speed to the north and out of sight. I believe the alphas could smell or hear a rival pack (possibly the Mollies or Junction pack) approaching. Please watch and subscribe my Friends. Thank you ~ Mike Holt
